Students and staff at Ecole Sacre Coeur in Georgetown South had a surprise waiting for soon-to-retire principal and golf fanatic Daniel Godin on one of the final days of the 2005-06 school year. Godin discovered elaborate mini-golf courses in the gym and outside in the schoolyard had been set up and he couldn't resist showing his deft putting touch to students in this photo. A reception was also held in his honour at a local golf club and a golf-themed souvenir photo album was presented to him at the party. After 33 years as an educator, including four years at Sacre Coeur, Godin has golf vacations planned to Myrtle Beach and Florida, along with more time to play euchre and poker. But the longtime Canadian Blood Services volunteer likely won't be far away from the Sacre Coeur community as he plans to do supply work, and because his wife, Denise, is replacing him as principal at the school.
