After receiving a $56,100 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation last year, members of the Georgetown Lawn Bowling Club put that money into refurbishing the Edith Street facility during the offseason, which included a new roof, walkways, floodlights, clubhouse flooring and other equipment. The club recently held its opening bowl of the 2006 season and celebrated in the sparkling new confines, ready for its 100th anniversary next year. Pictured left, GLBC president Bob Marshall (centre) had some help during the grand reopening ribbon-cutting ceremony from four club members who recently received their 25-year membership pins (from left): Alice Gray, Maddie Howat, Betty and Norris Hobbs.
