An account has been set up for Melissa and Shawn Irwin, the Acton couple who recently lost their one-month old son Tyler in a Caledon car crash. The accident occurred Friday, June 30 on Hwy. 10, south of Olde Base Line Rd., when a dump truck struck Melissa's car that had pulled out onto the road from a private driveway. The account was set up by Norm Creighton, owner of Papa's Pizza in Acton, where Shawn works part-time. Creighton wanted to do something to help the family during a very difficult time. He said Melissa was seriously injured in the crash and suffered head, back and rib injuries. She also had to have her spleen removed. She spent a week in hospital and is now home recovering and doing physiotherapy, but still has a lot of pain, said Creighton. Anyone interested in making a donation to the family can do so at any branch of Canada Trust. The branch number is 2065, the account number is 6016036 and the transit number is 004. Monetary donations are also being accepted at Papa's Pizza, 9 Mill St. W., Acton.
