The Upper Credit Humane Society Thrift Shop, Rescued Treasures, has been moved from Erin to Georgetown in Moore Park Plaza, and at last the Society is ready to start to "set up shop" so to speak. Volunteers-- people who love sorting things, meet the public and work as a team-- are needed. If you love animals, have a few hours on your hands, weekly, monthly or daily but don't have time to come to the Shelters in Erin or Limehouse, this is tailor-made for you. A shift of a few hours would be so much appreciated and the thrill of being in "at the beginning" to make the store attractive, relaxing, comfortable and profitable is a challenge for the perceptive person. The thrift store enables the Society to get much-needed cash to house and feed the many stray, unwanted and abandoned animals, get them medical care, re-training etc., so while you stack the shelves or help customers hunt for that special bargain, you know you are doing something worthwhile while helping out our furry friends.
Call Upper Credit Humane Society 519-833-2287 and ask for Cheryl to learn more about these volunteer positions. Please note if this is not for you, volunteers are also needed in all other areas from dog walking, cat room, foster families for our kittens, animal attendants, front office, fundraising etc.
