Dear editor, I'm not sure why we shouldn't be considering taking Toronto's trash. It goes through us on the way to Michigan anyway, so there's not going to be any significant traffic implications. Pollution doesn't respect regional boundaries, not in the air, the ground or the water, so Toronto's garbage (and all that goes into producing it) affects us as if it were our own. If we're going to build a waste to energy system costing hundreds of millions of dollars, aren't we going to need waste to make into energy? Where else would we get it from? Michigan? Burning Toronto's trash (or anyone's trash) should generate significant income for the region and hopefully be a catalyst for other regions to look at progressive ways of disposing of their waste, helping to generate environmental benefits for us and anyone else who follows our example. Bring it on! Kevin Leicht, Georgetown
