Local golfer Ryan Putnam birdied three of the final four holes to come back and halve his match and earn a half point toward Team Canada East's victory at the Lipton Brisk Canada Cup tournament in Markham on Monday. Organized by the Canadian Junior Golf Association, the tournament featured top junior golfers from the east and west of Canada facing off in a match play format. Team East defeated Team West 11-5 at the Angus Glen Golf Club. The 17-year-old Putnam, a North Halton Golf & Country Club member, was down four holes to Nicholas Gagne of Richmond, B.C. before rallying for the draw.
