Age: 61 Occupation: Banker. Political experience: None. Message to voters: As a longtime Georgetown resident I believe in preserving our small town quality of life. The next council has a great responsibility and a great opportunity to use the provincial Places To Grow legislation to our advantage. Halton Hills is required to develop a local plan, within three years, to conform to provincial employment and population increase requirements. We can reduce upward pressure on our residential taxes, increase employment and increase the tax base by aggressively promoting prestige industrial development in the 401 Corridor. These new tax dollars will pay for the new facilities and services we need. I believe that with co-operation with other Halton municipalities, modern planning techniques, community involvement and careful council consideration we can achieve Ontario population requirements without significant stress on our urban boundaries or well-based water system.
