Project Wishbone under way Police aiding animals in care of Upper Credit Humane Society

Halton Regional Police Service in Halton Hills and Milton is hoping everyone remembers the animals at Upper Credit Humane Society this Christmas. The Service has once again launched Project Wishbone to aid the animals in the care of the Upper Credit Humane Society and is accepting donations at stations in Georgetown, Acton and
Milton. "When you are choosing a toy or treat for your own pet this Christmas we would like you to think of those pets that have been lost, abandoned and abused and have been taken in by the Upper Credit Human Society and
other area animal shelters," said a Project Wishbone spokesperson "These animals ask very little out of life, some love, a soft bed, veterinarian care and a bowl of food. This year we hope to give those animals at the Upper Credit Humane Society and other area animal shelters all those things and maybe a few toys." Items on the Humane Society's wish list include dog items such as smoked marrow bones, new or used blankets and comforters, leashes, collars and gentle leaders, new or used dog igloos, new or used dog toys and Kongs, stainless steel water buckets and new or used dog beds.
For cats items needed are large cat cages, new or used cat toys, clumping cat litter, cat
nail clippers, cat treats, kitten formula, cat carriers, spray bottles, litter scoops, litter boxes, cat condos and trees and scratching posts. Rabbit water bottles, pellet food, Timothy hay, rabbit toys and new our used small animal cages are needed for rabbits. The Humane Society also needs cleaning materials such as scrub brushes, laundry soap, sponges, liquid bleach, new or used towels, ammonia, dishwashing liquid, cleaning clothes, large garbage bags, floor mops - mop K9 officer Rick Lost- heads, cleaning caddy, rubber racco and potential gloves, paper towels, glass clean new recruits Batman er, cleaning rags and latex gloves. and Kobe urge resiOffice supplies including pho- dents to donate to tocopy paper, post-it notes, - Project Wishbone postage stamps, large scissors, pens and highlighters, coffee mugs and a TV and DVD player - for training in reception are also needed. Also needed are new or used large and small animal veterinarian scales, dehumidifi er and medical supplies such as hydrogen peroxide, cotton balls and rescue remedy. Donations of cash or cheques will also be accepted on behalf of the Upper Credit Humane Society. Tax receipts are available for donations over $25 if requested. Donations are being accepted at local police stations in Georgetown (217 Guelph St.) and Acton (38 Mill St. E.) until December 22.
