April has been a very busy month at Centennial Public School. The Senior Boys Basketball team placed third in their league this season and the Senior Girls team competed for the North Halton Championship at GDHS last week. (In a valiant rally, the girls lost by two points to undefeated Stewarttown.) Centennial participated in the annual Think Bowl Competition held in Burlington. This contest required intermediate students to problem solve. This year's theme was "Mission Impossible" and Centennial students created a well thought-out presentation demonstrating that any task is solvable. Focusing on our community, Centennial raised $6,700 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart initiatives. In May, Centennial will be holding a Fitness Blast fundraiser. Striving to keep history alive, the Vikings are coming to Centennial this month! They will be re-enacting what life was like in the 11th century! Students will be told stories and get to handle artifacts such as cooking tools, clothes and weapons used during this period in history.
