Daily fire calls for the HHFD Halton Hills Fire Department has released its Weekly Incident Summary for April 4-10. Here are some highlights: MONDAY, APRIL 4 16:04­ Firefighters responded to an alarm activation on Elizabeth Dr. in Acton. On scene staff were advised the activation was due to burnt toast. Staff investigated and confirmed the false alarm, ventilated the apartment and returned to quarters. TUESDAY, APRIL 5 12:00­ Firefighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision with no persons trapped, in the area of Dublin Line and Hwy. 7. Halton Regional Police and ambulance were on scene upon arrival. On scene fire staff assisted with traffic control before being cleared from the scene. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6 12:13- Firefighters responded to the report of a clothes dryer fire on Oak St. On scene staff found light smoke throughout the house. Crews investigated and found the source of smoke coming from the washing machine. Power to the unit was disconnected and the home was ventilated. Crews also checked air quality during and after, zero readings noted on the gas detectors. No further action required. 19:37- Firefighters responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Park Ave. in Acton. On scene staff found a single vehicle into a tree on the front lawn of a Park Ave. home with significant damage to the left front corner of the vehicle. Fire staff disabled and assessed the driver and found no injuries. FRIDAY, APRIL 8 18:07­ Firefighters responded to a public assist for the report of a vehicle leaking fuel, on Dominion Gardens Dr. Staff spoke with the vehicle owner who advised they would get the leak fixed. SATURDAY, APRIL 9 00:07­ Firefighters responded to an alarm activation on Heather Ct. On scene, staff met with the homeowners where smoke could be seen in the home. An unattended pan with oil was left unattended, resulting in the smoke. Fire crews ventilated the home and cleared the scene. 20:38­ Firefighters responded to an alarm activation on Corey Circle. On scene staff found no occupants to be home. By peering into the windows of the occupancy on every floor HHFD crews determined that there was no obvious emergency. Contact information was left at the front door in the hopes of contacting the home owners when they return. SUNDAY, APRIL 10 22:38­ Firefighters responded to an alarm activation on Meadowlark Dr. On scene staff met with the homeowner and using detectors zero readings of CO was found in the home.
