Photo by Eamonn Maher Stay Home & Play Campaign nears goal Three donations from Acton businesses this month have whittled down the remaining money to be raised in order for the Stay Home & Play Campaign in Halton Hills to reach its fundraising goal for the construction of three arenas in the municipality. The campaign, overseen by the Halton Hills Arena Users' Group, is just $22,500 away from meeting its pledge to raise $2.2 million towards the total cost of $29.2 million for the two rinks added to the Mold-Masters SportsPlex in Georgetown in September 2013 and the twinning of the Acton Arena, which was completed this past winter. "We're expecting to make an announcement in the next month or so that we've reached our goal," said Finn Poulstrup, Stay Home & Play Campaign co-chair. Giant Tiger chipped in $25,000 for the new ice re-surfacer at the Acton Arena, while Daniel Varanelli, CPA/CGA, contributed $15,000 for one of the dressing rooms and Acton Precast contributed $5,000 for the sponsorship of 10 seats at the spectator area of the new pad.
