We enjoyed breakfast, seeing familiar faces and came away full of enthusiasm after listening to motivational speaker Carole Bertuzzi Luciani. As part of her presentation she had a collection of assorted bags, and described how NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION each bag reminded her of a volunteer personality. I know we all could relate to many of her descriptions. She has us all laughing and thinking about Steeles Avenue (Regional Road 8) widening and reconstruction how we relate to some of these descriptions. Volfrom Fifth Line South to Trafalgar Road (Regional Road 3) unteers are an integral part of both Centres. Their Town of Halton Hills time, energy and skills are invaluable and vital to the operation of both Centres. Following the Volunteer Appreciation Event some of the dart players took part in the Seniors Games Association Tournament. We should be very proud of our Seniors. In the mixed group Joyce and Tony Marrows won the gold which means they advance to the next level and play in Midland at a later date. The silver and bronze went to the Georgetown seniors. Acton member Marg Bromby and Georgetown member Shirley Gallant took the silver in the ladies doubles. Frances Hogenbirk and Walter Golden came in fourth and By Julie Conroy Hillsview Active Living Centre-Acton Diane and George Crane came in fifth. Thanks to Marie Chalmers who organized this event. Seventy-five people enjoyed the Celebrating Spring Social dinner. There was a very special lady there celebrating her 98th birthday. Happy Birthday Dorothy! Following dinner seven more leaves were added to our "Tree of Hope" placed there in memory of Steve Palichuk by Steve's wife Nina, their daughter Susan and friend Carolyn. Also helping were members of the Social dinner crew who worked for many years with Nina and Steve, plus friends from the Churchill Church, neighbours and members from the Centre.
