(A) Denturist WE BUILD BEAUTIFUL SMILES! Consultations are always free!! DENTAL HUMOUR I was the duty dental officer at CFB Petawawa, one evening I received a call from the base hospital. A soldier had broken some teeth in a car accident. As I entered the dental clinic, an orderly wheeled the soldier in. "I understand you have some broken teeth," I said to the patient. "Are you in any pain?" "Well, not really, sir" he said as he opened his hands to reveal a set of broken dentures. During a routine checkup, a Denturist asked his patient if he has been eating any different kinds of foods lately. The man replied that, yes his wife has learned to make a wonderful hollandaise sauce, and he's been eating it on just about everything. "Well, " the Denturist said, "I think the acidity in the sauce's lemon juice is eroding your denture plate. I'll make you a new one, but this time I'll make it out of chrome." "Chrome?", the patient asked. "Why Chrome?" "Because, the Denturist replied, everyone knows "there's no plate like chrome for the hollandaise!" "Good grief, you've got the biggest oral cavity I have ever seen!!" the Denturist exclaimed as he examined the patient. "The biggest oral cavity I have ever seen!!" The patient snapped, "You don't need to repeat it." "I didn't" said the Denturist, "that was an echo." Creating confident smiles since 1982. The Halton Hills Cultural Centre and Li- brary was evacuated about 3:45 p.m. Thursday after construction crews ruptured a gas line on Market St. Christine Williams, 54, of Acton, who was sitting in the lower level of the library said she began to feel ill and could smell gas at about 3 p.m. She was nauseated and said she had to rush to the washroom to vomit. Afterward, she said she tried to get up the stairs, but was too ill. Library staff helped her up and outside of the building. Williams was taken to hospital by ambulance where she was checked and re- leased. She said Friday that her throat was still ir- ritated, and she has waves of nausea. She saw her doctor on Tuesday. Williams, who said she is allergic to toxic fumes, ironically had gone to the library to get away from the tarring that was being done in her neighbourhood. No one else in the library reported any ill ef- fects from the gas said Deputy Director of Li- brary Services Geoff Cannon. The Library and Cultural Centre were closed for the rest of the day, but reopened as usual Friday. Halton Hills fi refi ghters and Halton Police responded to the scene. Union Gas repaired the rupture which affected approximately 300 customers in the area.
