OPP would like to re- mind everyone of some of the parking bylaws that exist in Wellington County. • No parking in front o f -- o r w i t h i n o n e metre--of a driveway. • No park ing wi th in three metres of a fire hydrant. • No parking with left wheels to the curb or edge of the street. • No parking more than 0.15 metres from the curb or edge of the street. • No parking upon a street--or municipal parking--lot between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m. of any day dur- ing t he mon ths o f November, December, January, February and March. • N o p a r k i n g w h e r e painted guide l ines exist except within such guide lines. • N o p a r k i n g o n a street--or municipal parking--for a period longer than 24 con- secutive hours. • No parking on or over a sidewalk. • No parking within nine metres of an inter- sect ion, pedes t r ian crossover or cross- walk. • No parking in a school bus loading zone. • No park ing on the street for the purpose of repairing, wash- ing or maintenance a vehicle. • No parking within 15 metres of any railroad crossing. • No parking in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic or the clear- ing of snow from the street. • No stopping in a school bus loading zone. • No stopping with left wheels to the curb of the street. "Parking" means the standing of a vehicle whether occupied or not. Exception: when standing temporari ly for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading merchandise or passen- gers. This means that even if the car is run- ning with people in it, you may be violating a bylaw. Wait ing for someone does not mean you're engaged in the loading of passengers.
