THE NEW TANNERTHURSDAY, APRIL 12, 2018 7THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 20186 The latest copy of Hills- view is at the reception desk. Don't forget to pick up yours. It covers April and May. We are printing an additional Hillsview each year--five copies instead of four. There are some new programs being offered this time as well as the tried and true ones. You can exercise your mind and body in many differ- ent ways, drop in for a coffee and a chat, or create beautiful pictures in either the paper tole or watercol- our painting classes. The Lunch and Learn programs and Men's Breakfast are very enjoyable. The second of our Spring Nights Live Music Series is on Friday, April 27. It features The Pepper Shakers who play 50's, 60's and 70's music. They are being held at the Ball- inafad Community Centre and doors open at 7 p.m. Music starts at 8 p.m. Re- freshments are available. For tickets call HALC in Acton 519-853-5951 or Georgetown 905-877- 6444. This event is open to the community. Due to the early dead- l ine, the Bid Euchre mooners were not in last week's New Tanner. Rob- erta Thompson had one mooner and Frances Ho- genbirk had two. This past Thursday--April 5--Shirley Hunter and Frances Hogenbirk each had one. At this week's funding meeting, the upcoming Mother's Day Tea was discussed. It will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are famous for our deli- cious tea. We will also have a bake table, 50/50 draw, penny table with lots of great prizes, and a great selection of reason- ably priced books ready for your summer reading. Tickets are going well for the April 16 Spring Social dinner. You will be enjoying ribs, roasted potatoes and dessert. The music will be by the popu- lar Dr J. The cut-off date is Thursday at 3 p.m. The monthly Saturday evening Bingo is very popular. Every month we see an increase in players. Everyone seems to enjoy the new format. The next Bingo is on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. One more leaf was add- ed to our Tree of Hope by Mary and Hank Walsma in memory of Hank's aunt Gertrude Frankruyter. Grace Graham was happy to hear she had won the weekly 50/50 draw. She won $55; a nice sur- prise after returning from her three months in Flor- ida.
