Now Hillsview Acton is only published once a month in The New Tanner. Please make sure you check your newsletter, emails and voicemail. I am sure you don't want to miss out on something interesting that is happening at the Centre. On Wednesday, May 30, 30 ladies and men enjoyed golfing at Blue Springs. The weather was hot which made a beer go down very well while waiting for the delicious lunch. Real has "retired" after many years so Maureen Harvey and Barb Hib- bard helped me run the golf day and everyone was happy to take home a prize. We hope to have another one in late September. Saturday Bingo is on June 16 starting at 7 p.m. and will run monthly during the summer. The weekly Thursday card players, monthly book club, movie, Friday lunches and afternoon Bingo will continue all summer, as will the exercise classes. The monthly Diabetes, foot clinic, hearing clinic and Alzheimer's clinics are by ap- pointment only and will also continue. The last in the popular Music Series will be held on Friday, June 22. It will feature a Gordon Lightfoot Tribute Band. All six shows have been well received. The members who have birth- days in May, June or July will receive an invitation to the Birthday Tea on Tuesday, June 19. They are invited to bring a guest. We ce lebra ted Dorothy Rognvaldson's 100 birthday on Tuesday, June 5. We enjoyed pulled pork sliders, salad and, of course, birthday cake. Dorothy loves to line dance and was up dancing several times. Many volunteers from Ac- ton and Georgetown-Hillsview Centres joined the Halton Hills volunteers at a joint "Hats off to you" volunteer appreciation evening. Without volunteers it would be impossible to hold many events and programs in our town. On Tuesday, June 26, we will be holding our first Family Day Breakfast. The guest speaker this month will be retired NHL Referee and Town Councillor Bryan Lewis. On Friday, June 29, instead of our regular Friday lunch and Bingo, we are holding another Canada Day Event. Last year when we celebrated Canada's 150th birthday. Everyone raved about how much they enjoyed it so we decided to hold it an- nually. Tickets are available at the reception desk. The Centre will be closed on Monday, July 2 for the Canada Day Holiday. There was not winner this week for the 50/50 draw. Watch for my next column on July 12. Around Town
