Organized by the Georgetown Runners, the Egg Nog Jog is comprised of an open 10.8-kilometre foot race and a One Mile Smile for youths ages 11 and under, with the course surrounding the Terra Cot- ta Conservation Area, where the start and finish lines are located. The race field has been closed with 600 partici- pants set to take part begin- ning at 10:30 a.m. Roads in the area will be open to traffic throughout the race and runners are required to stay on the right side of the roadway. Parking at the conserva- tion area is limited and car- pooling is encouraged. COMMUNITY Egg Nog Jog Sunday A group of local business owners and employees got together recently to view a blockbuster Hollywood film and raise some funds for Georgetown Hospital Foundation's Project X campaign. Georgetown Business 2 Community (B2C) rented the Brampton Silver City Cineplex Cinema for a pri- vate screening of the new DC Comics Justice League movie on its opening week- end, and after the world had been saved, $4,100 was raised for Project X, which has a goal set of generating $1.5 million for the pur- chase of digital X-ray equip- ment. Guests of B2C purchased tickets for the movie and made donations to the char- ity, while a 50/50 draw was held and raffle tickets were sold for many prizes that had been contributed by B2C members. In addition to the hospi- tal donation, B2C recently contributed $6,000 to Food 4 Kids and gave $500 to Circa- Fit's Stuff The Truck event held this past Saturday (Dec. 2) to collect food items for the Georgetown Bread Basket. B2C meets once a week to mentor and exchange re- ferrals to one another, aside from its charitable contri- butions. "Our mission statement is to have an impact within our community either through our volunteering efforts in local charitable functions, such as the Clas- sics Car Show for Cancer, or our fundraising initiatives," said Georgetown B2C presi- dent Dr. Corey Grossman.
