Noises aNd your sLeep Noise does not have to be loud to be harmful, it could take as little 60 decibels (the level of a quiet air conditioner) - to prod us from deep to superficial sleep without our knowing it, interrupting R.E.M. Cycles and leaving us to face the day fatigued and unfocused. Sleep deprivation from various noisy sources has been blamed for the thousands of highway and industrial accidents each year. Peel Regional Police say the victim was at a plaza located at 175 Fletchers Creek Blvd., near Bovaird Drive West, around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 when he was shot once while in the parking lot outside the LA Fit- ness. The Brampton man suf- fered non-life threatening inju- ries and was taken to hospital where he remains. There was a heavy police re- sponse with both canine and tac- tical officers heading to the scene. However, they were un- able to locate the shooter, who had fled. Police are searching for the attacker, but had limited infor- mation on his description to re- lease other than he's a black man. It's the second shooting in as many days in Brampton after po- lice arrested and charged a 20- year-old man after multiple gun- shots were fired near a plaza at McMurchy Avenue South and Queen Street West on Wednes- day, Dec. 20. Anyone with information can call Peel police's 22 division criminal investigation bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 2233.
