The Town of Halton Hills issued a permit to Everlast Group of Bramp- ton to demolish the buildings running parallel to Maple Ave. because they are unsafe and beyond repair. The de- molition began Wednesday and was expected to take two days. Barber Mill, located on Maple Ave. at River Dr., is a crumbling 1800s clus- ter of industrial buildings that was designated under the Heritage Act in 2008. At the same time, since 2004, Ever- last has been trying to develop the site, including a hotel and condominium and reuse of the existing buildings for retail/commercial use. Some of the structures deemed unsafe and beyond repair on the Barber Mill site on Maple Avenue at River Drive were demolished last week Photo by Ted Brown Portions of Barber Mill demolished Structures deemed unsafe
