Halton's red light camera program is add- ing fi ve new cameras across the Region this summer to increase intersec- tion safety and remind drivers to stop at red lights. Cameras snap photos of red light runners, but only operate when a vehicle enters the intersec- tion once the light has turned red. Photos by Ted Brown Storm cleanup may take two weeks Town offi cials say it could take two weeks to clean up the mess left by a series of violent thunderstorms that rolled through Halton Hills late Friday afternoon. The thunderstorms dam- aged dozens of trees and knocked out power to thou- sands of people-- largely in the Georgetown area. Town and Halton Re- gion works crews have been busy removing tree limbs and branches. The Region is enhancing its brush pickup program until Aug. 10 Halton Hills Hydro CEO Art Skidmore said while there were a few power out- ages in Acton, the bulk of them were in Georgetown and power was back on by Saturday afternoon.
