Halton Police did not release the name of the man. Police are still investigating, but say the incident isn't con- sidered to be criminal in nature and there are no public safety concerns. Stanley Hellam of Acton was walking his dog Duke Monday evening beside the lake in the Elizabeth Dr./Elmore Dr. area about 7:30 p.m. when he spot- ted what he thought was a dead goose fl oating about 20 metres from shore. The Independent & Free Press is on the move. Having been located at the south end (Walmart) of the Georgetown Market Place since 2000, our new offi ce, as of Monday, Au- gust 19, will be located at the other end of the mall. To be precise, the IFP offi ce (Unit 77) will have outside access only and will be adjacent to the mall's west parking lot (near the food court). As a result of the move this weekend, the IFP offi ce will be closed from noon today (Thursday) until 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19. "The recent renovation of the Georgetown Market Place necessitated this move," said IFP general manager Steve Foreman. "How- ever, we wanted to ensure our new location provided our customers with the easy access they have enjoyed over the years and at the same time kept our staff in the heart of Hal- ton Hills. We believe this new location in the mall accomplishes both objectives." The IFP's new address is 280 Guelph St. Unit 77, Georgetown, Ont. L7G 4B1. We're moving (but we're not going far) The 22nd annual Ac- ton Leathertown Festival drew an estimated re- cord crowd of between 7-8,000 people Sunday. The Acton BIA-sponsored event featured a number of merchants displaying their wares and plenty of entertainers. Here a blue- faced Madison Fournier, 12, of Acton enjoys a hot dog.
