The 26-year-old University of Ottawa law school graduate hadn't competed in the presti- gious event since 2010, having also earned gold on women's eights entries in 2008 and 2009. In this year's event, Nurse teamed with Natalie Mas- tracci of Thorold to win the pairs' race by 19 seconds over a South Niagara Rowing Club boat in 7:19.98. She was also a member of the women's eights squad that nosed out the Phil- adelphia-based Vesper Boat Club crew by nearly two sec- onds with a finishing time of 5:59.41.
