Local motorcyclists host Charity Poker Run on Saturday The Georgetown Hospital Founda- tion is just a short 'walk' away from reaching its $6.5 million campaign goal for the new Emergency Depart- ment and CT Scanner. With community help, the GHF is sure they will reach its goal soon, and are hoping the upcoming Walk for Georgetown Hospital will add lots of dollars. The annual Walk for Georgetown Hospital, on Sunday, Sept. 29, is a short 3km walk through the neigh- bourhood and, this year, it ends with a special sneak peek of the new Emer- gency Department before it opens for patient care. Registration/check-in begins in the Georgetown Hospital Courtyard at 9 a.m., Walk begins at 10:30 a.m. ending around 1 p.m. Coffee, tea, juices and muffins for breakfast, fun and games, complimentary lunch are included. The route is dog and stroller friendly. To register go to www.Georgetown- HospitalFoundation.ca Register now for Georgetown Hospital Walk The Antiques Road Show is a very popular PBS television show in which participants bring their treasures and heirlooms to be viewed by all and in- formally appraised by experts. St. George's Anglican Church in Georgetown is hosting its own version of The Antiques Road Show on Saturday, Sept. 28, 1-4:30 p.m. For $20 per item for appraisal, which also in- cludes tea and cakes, you can find out what your valu- ables are finally worth. Century Estate Services is provid- ing their expertise for free at the St. George's Church fundraiser. As well they are offering a two-hour consulta- tion or official appraisal record valued at over $300 to be auctioned during the show. Admission for those who just want to watch the fun is $5. Bring your silver, furniture, books, pictures or whatever heirlooms or treasures you are curious to know about-- but no jewelry because special equip- ment is required for this. From past experience, a very eclectic mix of things will be brought which adds to the fun and interest. Only 40-50 items can be appraised within the allotted time frame, so pre- register with Kyle Jones, 905-873-2073 or pkjones@cogeco.ca Antiques Appraisal Show returns to St. George's on Sept. 28
