In the Sisnett Lobby, the art exhibition, Variations on a Theme opened Sept. 11, and features the work of local artists who have been inspired by music. In the Helson Gallery, the art exhibi- tion, The Art of Collecting, opens Sept. 12. Complementing this exhibit, will be a Gal- lery lecture, The Art of Collecting, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. Join Gallery Curator Judy Daley for a tour that highlights local collectors and selections from the Helson Collection. The popular Music at One Concert Se- ries returns to the Helson Gallery with the George Grosman Trio on Sept 24 at 1 p.m. The Cultural Master Plan Launch will be held Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. The Cultural Supervisor and the Project Lead from the Cultural Master Plan project will be on site in the Gallery to explain the plan. On Sept. 29 enjoy A Conversation with Fred Helson, 2 p.m. Learn first-hand about his collection and his passion for art. In partnership with the Hispanic Cultur- al Forum, the John Elliott Theatre presents Hispanic Movie Series: The Secret in their Eyes, an Oscar-winning film from Argen- tina on Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $5. On Sept. 25, the TIFF Film Circuit Se- ries kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with Stories We Tell, directed by Cana- dian actress and direc- tor Sarah Polley. This event will include a pre-show reception, opening remarks, and a post-show Q and A. Proceeds will support the Perchance to Dream theatre and library fundraising campaign. Tickets $20. On Sept. 26, 7 p.m. One Book, One Com- munity book club kicks off with award-win- ning author, Dr. Vincent Lam, who reads from The Headmaster's Wager, this year's One Book, One Halton Hills title. Copies of the book will be on sale and available for signing. Tickets $2 at the library. On Sept. 27, Dale Wood and Friends Concert will be held at 8 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Perchance to Dream cam- paign. Tickets $25. And completing the month will be Stand-Up with Sandra Shamas at 8 p.m. The comedy star brings her satiric stand- up act for a special engagement to the JET, her hometown stage, for one night only.
