Lynne, a certified electrologist and laser technician, is the owner and operator of Bare Image Electrolysis and Laser Inc. in downtown Georgetown. As the name suggests, Bare Image offers electrolysis and laser treatments to permanently remove unwanted body hair. Electrolysis, which takes between six months and a year and half to complete, involves sending a small electric current into the hair follicle to permanently destroy the root. Laser hair removal, which usually requires between four and six treatments to take effect, uses a laser to destroy or impede several hair follicles at a time. Lynne got started in the field after having permanent hair removal done herself. She had such a positive experience that she enrolled in the Electrolysis College of Canada and became a certified electrologist and laser technician. She then opened her business and has been helping the people of Halton Hills ever since. "I like making people feel good about themselves by getting rid of the stuff they hate," Lynne says. "Women and men are so busy. I give them one less thing to worry about." Bare Image has recently moved to a new location. Bare Image Electrolysis & Laser Inc. The owner of The Pint & Paddle- Canadian Bistro (formerly The Stuffed Olive- Wood Oven & Taps), says that Halton Hills has a small-town feel where "it feels as though everyone is your neighbour." The self-described "happiness facilitator" therefore feels it only makes sense for his full-service, licensed restaurant to use local products. "The Pint & Paddle uses locally sourced ingredients wherever possible," says Mike. "We have 12 lines of Ontario-crafted draught beers, as well as a great selection of Ontario VQA wines. Our Gourmet Burgers (available gluten-free) use local elk, bison, beef, and chicken. Our baked goods and available produce are also local. We believe that fresh tastes best." Mike, who began his career in the restaurant industry 24 years ago, says, "We encourage people from Halton Hills and beyond to sample some of the wonderful products that are grown and made in the area. From the perspective of sustaining our local economy and our local (as well as global) environment, it's the right thing to do." Visit The Pint & Paddle today for food less travelled - more tasty! Georgetown 905.877.8443 For Pam Skorulski, owner of Creature Comfort Company in downtown Georgetown, going to work each day is like going to a "second home". "It is a truly relaxing and fun atmosphere and I'm very lucky to have two great staff who help me run the store," says Pam. "I really enjoy meeting lots of wonderful people who are passionate and caring about their pets." Ironically, Pam was a longtime customer of the 17-year-old business before taking ownership last month. "We sell high quality dog and cat food along with other pet accessories such as coats, toys, treats leashes and collars. We also sell high quality bird seed and feeders and have a wonderful assortment of greeting cards and other unique gift ware," she says. Pam spent the first 10 years of her career in the animal care field before switching professions. She's now glad to be back in the pet word "where my passion lies". "Living in Terra Cotta I have been shopping in Georgetown for over 20 years and I have always believed in supporting local businesses who are owned or operated by wonderful people and now I am lucky enough to be part of this community."
