This notice was first issued on November 14, 2013 Environmental Assessment Study Notice of Public Information Centre #2 Mayfield Road from Chinguacousy Road to Heart Lake Road The Study The Region of Peel has initiated a Schedule 'C' Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association's Municipal Class EA process for the widening of Mayfield Road to six lanes from Chinguacousy Road to Heart Lake Road. Mayfield Road is an east-west arterial road and forms the boundary between the City of Brampton and the Town of Caledon. The Process The Class EA process includes public and agency consultation in creating the best solution for the study. The project team, with public and agency input will:· define the problem statement;· develop and evaluate planning alternatives; and,· determine a preferred solution. Public Information Centre #1 The first Public Information Centre (PIC) was held in November 2011 when staff reviewed input from the public and agencies and confirmed the preferred planning solution to:· widen Mayfield Road with intersection improve- ments; and,· review opportunities to facilitate the movement of vehicles, transit, goods movement, walking and cycling. Public Information Centre #2 PIC #2 will present:· technical report findings and recommendations;· a review of alternative design concepts; and· the recommended design concept. PIC #2 is set up as an informal drop-in centre with display boards to present the study information. The Project Team will be present to answer questions and discuss the study. The PIC is scheduled for: Date: Wednesday, November 27, 2013 Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Location: Police Association Building, 10675 Mississauga Road, Brampton Upon completion of the study, the Notice of Study completion and an Environmental Study Report (ESR) that presents the study findings will be published.
