Special performances by The City of Brampton School of Dance throughout the day! 2 lights East of 410 on Queen St., Brampton BramaleaCityCentre.com Some of the healthier cats among the more than 100 felines rescued from a Halton Hills' home in September are now ready for adoption. The Oakville & Milton Humane So- ciety announced Monday that special viewings of the cats in the education room of the shelter will be held, with the hope of finding "forever" homes for the animals. "We will be showing just a few at a time," said Andrea Barker, the OMHS's Manager of Animal Care. "Because of their history, some may be more timid than the average cat and all will need longer than usual to settle in to a new home." The OMHS is looking for some spe- cial families for these special cats. By having special viewing days and times, people who feel like they may be a good fit will have the opportunity to come in and meet the cats and apply to adopt them. The special adoption dates for the res- cued cats are Nov. 23-24 and Nov. 30th & Dec. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. As more of the cats recover from illnesses and surgeries, additional dates will be an- nounced. The adoption fee for adult cats is $150 and includes spay/neuter, all vaccines up to date, micro-chipping, six weeks of free pet insurance and a small bag of Hills Science Diet food. "It's our hope to have as many of the cats as possible in loving homes for the holidays" said Barker. Beginning on Sept. 5, the OMHS re- moved 107 live cats and 10 deceased cats from a house in Halton Hills, after an anonymous tip that there could be as many as 200 cats living at the address. Charges of nine counts of animal cru- elty have been laid against Ruth Nacca- rato, founder of Kool Kats Rescue.
