Please remember to mark Saturday, Nov. 30, on your calendars. The branch will be hosting a fun- draiser for Bev Boisvenue (nee Dunn) in the Gord McCutcheon hall from 8 till 12. Everyone is wel- come. Bev has been hospitalized for approximate- ly one year following complications of surgery. As a result, she has suffered a stroke and has lost most of her speech. Bev has been known for her great singing voice over the years. In the past she has sung the National Anthem at our arena for hockey games and at the Back to Acton Days. One of her greatest accomplishments was being chosen 10 years ago to sing the National Anthem at the Blue Jays game in Toronto. Bev is a lifelong resident of Acton who is married to Andre. They have three children Alyssa, Ryan and Austin. The beauty of living in a small town is that everyone joins togeth- er to help those in need. All are welcome to attend this event. It was a very successful Santa Claude Parade last Saturday thanks to all the hard work of Sylvia and her help- ers. They had lots of fun with the Mardi Gras theme. The craft ladies, and bazaar commit- tees are very busy getting ready for the Bazaar on Saturday and new this year we will have a collection of Austrian Swarovski Crystal for sale. The Friday, Nov. 29 lunch will be Swiss Chalet BBQ chicken with a slight increase in price due to the additional cost of the meal. If interested you must sign up by Wednesday November 27. They hope to facilitate discussions of emerging issues such as Elder Abuse, social isolation, neglect, inter-genera- tional confl ict and community resourc- es.
