The two teams finished the regular season tied at 12-1 along with Oakville's White Oaks, but the Rebels were awarded top seed as the Jags' only league loss came on the opening day of the regular season when they were swept by Georgetown 2-0. Submitted photo Team of the Week Ctk Junior Jaguars Georgetown's Matthew Kreis was one of 20 play- ers from the Ontario Hockey League selected to play for this province at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge to be held Dec. 29 to Jan. 4 in Cape Breton, N.S. Kreis, a 16-year-old for- ward, was the number-one draft pick (15th overall) of the OHL's Barrie Colts this past spring and the Halton Hurri- canes' graduate has a goal and 11 assists in 19 games with the club after scoring in his first regular-season contest. At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Kreis also has a plus/ minus rating of -1 with the Colts along with four penalty minutes. His twin brother Mitch- ell is a defenceman with the Georgetown Jr. A Raiders. Ten teams will take part in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, including five from Canada and five international entries. Team Ontario has won the tourney eight times, the last coming in 2011. The Georgetown under-15 Impact played in the 10-team under-16 girls' division at the re- cent Ontario Volleyball Associa- tion Provincial Cup in Richmond Hill earlier this month, winning all five of its matches for the gold medals. The Impact dropped just one set all weekend and defeated Leaside in the championship match 2-0.
