MacCaskill, who has held a number of differ- ent roles at Halton Region over the last 25 years, has been appointed Halton's new Chief Administration Offi cer (CAO). Regional council unani- mously endorsed the rec- ommendation made by a CAO selection committee yesterday (Wednesday) in council chambers. Regional Chair Gary Carr once again thanked former CAO Pat Moyle for his work as well as Dr. Bob Nosal, for fi lling in the role while a new CAO was being selected. He and other councillors welcomed MacCaskill into her role with a round of applause. "Jane has an impressive back- ground and expertise in Halton Re- gion," said Carr. "Her sound fi nancial and fi scal accountability and strong leadership prove that Jane is the ideal candidate to continue to keep Halton a strong and prosperous Region. He continued, "I am looking for- ward to working with Jane in her new capacity and know she will do an ex- cellent job to ensure Halton remains a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire." MacCaskill, who previ- ously held the position of Commissioner of Corpo- rate Services and Regional Treasurer for 12 years, will assume her new responsi- bilities immediately.
