We have almost 50 artists of all media cur- rently displaying their art, including two of the protesters. And after less than two weeks we had over $1,500 in sales," said local artist Carolyn Martin. Frans Rood, president of the Credit Valley Artisans, said the group maintains a "neutral position" on the Gallery issue. Rood said presentations currently on display in the Cultural Centre/Library are "far more accessible to the public, contrary to what was perceived to be a problem." Bonnette said there will be a staff presentation on the Gallery at the council meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday. "There has been a great deal of confu- sion about what the Town has done so far, and more importantly what the Town in- tends to do," said Bonnette. Schaljo quoted from Section 9 stating, "the Gallery will no longer be available for the display of artwork by local artists." "It's always been our intention that they (local artists) use the Gallery, you might want to talk to Terry (Alyman) about that," said the mayor.
