One hundred per cent of all dona- tions go directly to the Bread Basket. Last year this Lions event collected over 1,700 lbs of food and over $2,000 in cash donations for the food bank. This is the fourth year for the food drive/Breakfast and will be the last year in the Lions' current hall, behind Memorial Arena. The hall will be de- molished this fall at the same time as the arena. The Georgetown Lions have been part of this community since 1931, over 80 years serving Georgetown residents. It has supported the Georgetown Hos- pital since it was originally built, up to its recent pledge of $75,000 for the new expansion. The club has organized the Santa Claus Parade since 1933, has pledged $25,000 to the new George- town Library, awards yearly bursaries to graduating high school students continuing their education and sup- ports many other community service projects. Lions to host 4th annual Breakfast and Food Drive Weekend, April 6-7 Georgetown Lion Linda Dilks and Georgetown Bread Basket director Don Burt display break- fast that will be served at the Lions Food Drive in aid of the Bread Basket.
