Held at Blessed Sacrament Separate School in Steeltown, the Rebels began the 11-team tourney with a one-point loss to Grimsby, but rebounded to grab a spot in the fi nal by defeating Wallaceburg 41- 21, the Sault Ste. Marie Titans 42-27 and the Strat- ford Revolution 43-35 in the semifi nals. Rebels settle for silver Gloria Sinclair Born and raised in Georgetown, the soon-to- be 66-year-old Sinclair enters the Halton Hills Sports Hall of Fame as both an athlete and build- er for her dedication to amateur golf. The longtime Club at North Halton member has won several regional, provincial and national titles over the past 25 years, highlighted by her Canadian Senior Women's Team Play champion- ship in 2000 and four Golf Association of Ontario individual and team victories. Carrying a 5 handicap, she qualifi ed for the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship tourna- ment in 1999 and 2001 and placed 15th for her category at the British Amateur Championship in 2003. Sinclair has captured the North Halton wom- en's club championship 20 times and won the senior women's title on 15 occasions. In 2010, she received the Golf Association of Ontario's Achievement Award for her many ac- complishments on and off the course. The list of Sinclair's efforts as a builder are just as lengthy as her accomplishments with club in hand. She has served as club captain, rules con- venor, junior golf co-ordinator and training advi- sor at North Halton, along with other duties in the Mississauga District and GAO teams, earn- ing appointment to the Ontario Amateur Golf Hall of Fame Selection Committee last year.
