But Heritage Halton Hills (HHH) says the central portion of the building is a rare example of a frame stagecoach-style rail- way hotel that is in proximity to a federally- designated train station, still in operation. HHH says that portion should be listed on the Heritage Register. Infrastructure Services Director Chris Mills said demolition could happen any- time after the permit is approved, and because the structure is not listed on the Heritage Register, demolition would not have to wait the required 60 days. However, the heirs' solicitor, Bert Ar- nold, said Monday his clients, who had just heard of the Habitat proposal that day, were willing to work with Habitat in their investigation, and would let the Town know the outcome as soon as possible so no Town money is wasted exploring other options. Council approved "in principle" the listing of the property on the Town's Mu- nicipal Heritage Register "pending Town Solicitor's advice on any impacts of listing the said property after a demolition appli- cation has been received."
