The Regional Municipality of Halton NOTICE OF PESTICIDE USE The Halton Region Health Department monitors standing water and catch basins in urban areas on public lands in the City of Burlington, the Town of Halton Hills, the Town of Milton, and the Town of Oakville for mosquito larvae. When mosquito larvae are found, the Health Department uses larvicide to control mosquito larvae in order to reduce the incidence of West Nile virus in Halton. Larvicide will be applied by a licensed applicator contracted by the Region. Larviciding in Standing Water Larviciding of standing water may occur anytime from May 16 to October 31, 2013 once monitoring indicates that mosquito larvae are present. Grade 11 violinist Susannah McKenzie- Sutter has pulled together a group of mu- sical friends, including student-run string quartet, High Strung, as well as senior mu- sic students on trumpet, guitar, vocals and more to join this showcase of local talent. The 16-year-old student began organiz- ing at a time when the prospects for resum- ing extracurriculars at the school were un- certain, and didn't want to hear there might not be a spring concert this year either. "I wanted to make sure there was an event where senior students, and other budding musicians, could showcase their talents," she said.
