The eighth annual Canadian Cancer Society's Georgetown Relay for Life raised approximately $70,000 with donations still coming in. The event, held at the Croatian Centre Fri- day/Saturday drew 25 teams with 250 members and 30 survivors. To date, Team Bison was the top fundraising team raising $15,573 while Cancer Fighting Irish ($6,167), Sister Act ($5,562), Nashville North ($5,535), and Sock It To Cancer ($4,303) followed. The top individual fundraisers were Norm Sneyd ($4,625) and Lisa Wagg ($2,370) from Team Bison. More than $74,000 was raised last year.
