At 41 years old, Kimm is a wife and mother of two, a business owner, a friend to many and a woman with a heart as big as they come and a will even bigger. Kimm has a goal: striving to- wards conquering terminal brain cancer. Her most fervent wish is to have more time to make more memories with her young family. In September 2013, Kimm was not expected to live past two months. With the help of an In- ternet campaign, a lot of press, and a very strong support system behind her, Kimm has been able to afford the drug Avastin. She had two goals-- to be able to have Christmas with her family (done!) and to attend her daughter's confirmation this June. Kimm's condition is still listed as termi- nal, but she is getting the gift of extra time. The cancer is being brought to its knees a little more everyday with Kimm's strength and her winning attitude towards life. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of her friends and supporters working together constantly to pay for the very expensive treatments not covered by her insurance or the government, the tumour has not grown substantially in the last two months. Globe is presenting Making Memories Benefit Concert for Kimm Poirier-Fletcher on Saturday, March 8, 8 p.m at the John Elliott Theatre Funds raised will assist Kimm and her family financially and to show that we care! Our Music Di- rector is Dale Wood and we have 20 excellent performers from Globe Productions coming to en- tertain you with Broadway hits. The cast includes people who have performed with Kimm on stage in Jesus Christ Super- star (one of Kimm's bucket list dreams) and The Music of An- drew Lloyd Webber as well as other Globe members. Making Memories is our way of saying we love you Kimm. You can help by pur- chasing a ticket, $30 and joining us on Sat- urday, March 8 at the John Elliott Theatre.
