It is an organization active not only in local cultural events, festivals, and pipe band com- petitions but also in promoting the culture and traditions of Scotland through bagpipes and drums. To continue that tradition the organization is reaching out to the young people of the com- munity interested in learning to play either pipes or drums. The Pipe Band's instructors are world class with both the Pipe Major David F. Stewart and Drumming Instructor Craig Stewart having competed at the highest levels both in Canada and Scotland. The Spring session begins on Thursday, Feb. 27, in the meet- ing rooms above The Shepherd's Crook restaurant (access is through the restaurant), 80 Main St. in Georgetown, starting at 7:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to take part and register for lessons is asked to contact the Band through its website: www.georgetownpipe- band.ca No previous experience on pipes or drums is necessary.
