There are seven shows over this weekend and next, including two matinees on March 23 and 29. The cast has been working on the show for several months now. The original con- cept was suggested by Globe President Lois Fraser, who is a big fan of music from WW1 and WW2. In addition, there are a lot of shows that Globe cannot easily do in full, such as Miss Saigon (no helicopters), Les Miserables (no rights for community the- atre to perform until recently) and Ragtime (casting difficulties, including a shortage of piano players who can also act, sing and dance!). With a cabaret style, Globe can do the main songs from a show, without doing the entire production. As always, there is a lot of family in- volvement in a Globe show. Jordan May, who has been in the last three cabarets, plus playing Aladdin in last Spring's Youth Show, joins his dad Kevin, who is Stage Manager for the show. Sisters Madison and Alex Jones were previously on stage together in Globe's Joseph, 5 years ago. Lois Fraser is being directed by her daughter Joanna, who is Assistant Director, while daughter Kate is Assistant Stage Manager behind the scenes. Darrel Swenarchuk, dad of Globe youth member, Bryn Swenarchuk, is the lighting expert... you get the picture. It's definitely a family affair!
