The Best Day Of The Week Just Got Better EVERY SUNDAY 10:00 till 2:00 The Town of Halton Hills is mov- ing into the next phase of the plan- ning process for the Vision George- town community. Planning is currently under way for the community bounded by 15 Sideroad to the north, Eighth Line to the east, 10 Sideroad to the south and Trafalgar Rd. to the west. It will cover 1,000 acres and be home to about 19,000 people and 1,700 jobs by 2031. The Town is now moving into the next step of the planning process, which includes developing land use concepts using the Vision and Guid- ing principles as the framework for decision making. A land use concept is a map that identifies where different types of residential and commercial uses may be located, the pattern of the major roads, the environmental features to be protected, and the location of parks and schools. The Town is inviting everyone to join in helping to shape the new community and participate in a Land Use Concepts Workshop Tues- day (April 15) at 6:30 p.m. at Christ the King Secondary School cafete- ria, 161 Guelph St. Those who attend will have the chance to provide input into the cre- ation of a preferred land use con- cept. The main focus of the meeting is to hear from the public. There will be a presentation followed by an in- teractive workshop. Those who plan to attend are asked to register in ad- vance at visiongeorgetown@halton- hills.ca or by calling 905-873-2601 ext. 2214. For more information, including staff reports, summaries of public in- put, and the Vision and Guiding prin- ciples visit www.visiongeorgetown.ca. People can also sign up for the project email list on the website to be notified of updates and public events. For anyone unable to attend the workshop, consultation kits are available at the Planning, Develop- ment and Sustainability Department at the Civic Centre, 1 Halton Hills Dr., by email at visiongeorgetown@ haltonhills.ca or contacting Tara Bu- onpensiero at 905-873-2601 ext. 2214 or emailing tarab@haltonhills.ca Land use concepts to be unveiled at Vision Georgetown meeting
