Did you know that there are over 15 000 different pet foods on the market today? Did you also know that many of those pet foods were never fed to an animal by the manufacturer before being brought to the market? To make matters worse, there are very few laws and standards regulating the claims that a manufacturer can make about their pet food. There is also an incredible amount of misinformation out there on nutrition. No wonder it is so difficult to pick a quality food for our pets. Yet, we all know how important good nutrition is to the health and wellbeing of a body. Your veterinarian knows that every pet has different needs when it comes to their diet and takes into consideration the body condition, activity level, life stage/age and various diseases when they make a diet recommendation for your pet. Your veterinarian's goal is to promote lifelong health, and disease prevention and management. As part of that commitment, Mountainview Animal Hospital has invited a Pet Nutrition Advisor to our hospital on Thursday April 24, 2014 to answer any questions you have about pet food and nutrition. We invite you to stop by between 3:00 and 7:00 pm with your questions about nutrition in general or the veterinary exclusive diets that are available at Mountainview Animal Hospital.
