Holy Week and Good Friday in partic- ular are traditionally times of introspec- tion and meditation. On Good Friday, the Georgetown Bach Chorale will end its current season with a contemplative Requiem by Gabriel Fau- ré, with soprano Céline Moore as solo- ist, and Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs, featuring baritone Bob Knight as soloist. The choir will be conducted by Pamela Gibson and accompanied by Ron Greida- nus. Among local churches in which the Chorale has regularly performed in re- cent years is St. Elias Ukrainian Catholic Church, near Norval, very recently totally destroyed by fire. The Chorale is hoping to perform a benefit concert once the re- building plans are under way, but in the meantime would like to dedicate this concert to the pastor and parishioners of St. Elias. Friday's concert in St. George's Anglican Church, located at 60 Guelph Street in Georgetown, will start at 4 p.m. Soups and bread will be offered after- wards in the church hall. Tickets may be purchased ($30 adults, $10 students) at Foodstuffs, Pat's Meats and Deli, the Holland Shop in Acton, at the doors, or by calling 905-877-0462. •T he IF P• H al to n H ills • Th ur sd ay , A p ril 1 7, 2 01 4 32 Mountainview Residence 22 Mountainview Rd.
