The portion of the GTA West Preliminary Route Planning Study Area within the Towns of Halton Hills and Milton includes lands bounded by (Refer to Key Map): i) North - 10 Side Road and the Hamlet of Norval ii) East - Winston Churchill Blvd. iii) South - Auburn Road (Town of Milton) iv) West - rear lot line of lots fronting on Eighth Line The Province of Ontario is undertaking the GTA West EA, and to date has determined the need for a future Provincial highway from Hwy 400 to Hwy 401/Hwy 407 in Halton Hills, within the Preliminary Route Planning Study Area. Phase 2 of the GTA West EA which will identify the location of the transportation corridor within the Study Area has recently commenced. The purpose and effect of the Region and Town Official Plan amendments will be to implement corridor protection on lands within the GTA West Preliminary Route Planning Study Area, and phase the supply of urban employment lands in the area west of Eighth Line, north of Steeles Avenue. The Town of Halton Hills will initiate a land use planning exercise (i.e. secondary plan) for those lands and potential additional lands. NEW Starting april 3 Equal Parts, a new exhibition at the Williams Mill Gallery, opened yester- day and will continue until April 30. There will be an opening reception, and an opportunity to meet the artist, Brian Smith, on Sunday, April 20 from 2-4 p.m. Smith was accepted into the Ontario College of Art with advanced standings and full scholarship. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer, found- ing his own brand develop- ment company. Over the next 27 years, he and his design team won over 90 national and international design awards. Throughout this time, Smith has also been a practic- ing fine artist, specializing in classical drawing and painting from the figure. His works range through a variety of media and styles, and are represented in collections across Canada and the U.S. Smith says, "I have been draw- ing and painting the human form for many years and I continue to derive an enormous amount of pleasure from it. I am an artist because the human form inspires." The exhibition can be seen at the Williams Mill Gallery, 515 Main Street in Glen Williams.
