Georgetown's favourite Veterinary Services 3 Years in a Row Georgetown Little Theatre Youth Company will present a delightfully 'dishonest comedy' by Noel Coward this coming week. His Semi-Monde oozes the opulence and excess of the 1920s as Coward explores the ques- tionable morals and hilarious monot- ony of the lives of the upper class elite. GLT-YC gives Georgetown the rare glimpse at this delightful work, of which strict Victorian censors forbid Coward to produce during his life- time. Directed by Sam Hancock, Semi- Monde will be presented evenings at 7:30 p.m. May 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 2 p.m. May 3, 4, 10 at the Georgetown Studio, 33 Stewarttown Rd. The play spans several years in the mid-1920s and is set in the lobby, res- taurant and bars of the Ritz Hotel in Paris. Although it follows the lives of French, English, Russian and Ameri- can socialites-- that is the bitching, coupling, flirting and seductive affairs. It is said to be the "most autobiograph- ical" treatment of homosexuality ever written in its time. It is disarmingly frank but charming and witty all the same. The costumes, and mannerisms are sure to transport all to a magical time where one can sit back and just enjoy the love of the journey. Cow- ard's witty banter is sure to keep one transfixed upon this gossipy fast paced comedy of manners and social masks. Be transported back in time to a day where life was just a game. Come and enjoy. Tickets are $10, reserved seating, so please call GLT Studio 905-877-3422 to reserve.
