Photo by Eamonn Maher Former resident unveils his Greenwood work Artist Ken Hall recently unveiled his latest work at the Greenwood Cem- etery columbarium garden in George- town, which has been named the Se- renity Monument. Hall, a former Georgetown resident, was awarded the commission based on his memorial design featuring a stylized extrusion of a dove, creating a contemplative focal point that uses negative space to frame the sky and draw visitors' thoughts and spirits up- wards. Working in his Mulmur, Ont. studio, located north of Orangeville, Hall fab- ricated the sculpture out of welded alu- minum with metallic gold and bronze coatings. The new artwork component will enhance the existing contemplative co- lumbarium garden area. Town staff have added a new colum- barium, Grace, which is a granite struc- ture designed for cremated remains, to the area to address the increasing need for cremation interment options.
