Photo by Ray Lavender Sailing coach facing charges A sailing coach in Burlington and Oakville is facing sexual assault charg- es after four male victims contacted Halton Police about incidents that oc- curred when they were between the ages of 13 and 16. The accused turned himself into po- lice. Police say the accused volunteered for more than 10 years as a sail boat race coach. The incidents spanned from Burl- ington, Oakville, Nepean and Kingston areas. Police anticipate there will be nu- merous other victims that haven't yet been identified. The accused is also currently vol- unteering at the Bronte Harbour Yacht Club, 2514 Lakeshore Rd. W. in Oakville, as head of the sailing school which incudes the racing team, say po- lice. Charged with 16 Criminal Code of- fences pertaining to sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexu- al touching and sexual exploitation is Sean Hewson, 31, of Ancaster. Hewson has been held for a bail hearing in Milton court Friday. Police ask anyone with information to contact Det. Sgt. John Mans of the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Bu- reau at 905-465-8760.
