Volunteers are needed for natural area restoration on Satur- day June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is open to those of all ages and is ideal for students looking to earn community service hours. Ac- tivities include trail maintenance and invasive plant removal. "The winter ice storm caused signif- icant damage to trails at Willow Park," said Carolyn Martin, park manager at Willow Park Ecology Centre. "Volun- teers can improve the natural area for wildlife and visitors alike." No experience necessary, training will be provided. Participants are asked to dress for the weather and wear long pants and sturdy shoes. In addition to a number of gardens and trails, Willow Park Ecology Centre boasts a butterfly garden, wetland and snake habitat. For more information, contact CVC's Lindsey Jennings at 905-670- 1615 ext. 445 or ljennings@creditval- leyca.ca. Conservation Authorities are a pro- vincial/municipal partnership. CVC was established by an act of the province in 1954 with a mandate to protect all natu- ral resources other than minerals in the area drained by the Credit River and for 60 years CVC has been protecting and enhancing the natural environment of the Credit River watershed.
