The races feature: • Full road closures (no yellow line rule); • a challenging 8.68 km loop through the scenic hills of Caledon; • the opportunity to participate in a fast and thrilling "Tour de France" type experience; • over 1,200 cheering spectators; • three youth events and three adult events; • events for beginning cyclists as well as elite racers; • electronic timing, BBQ/artisan piz- za lunch, free shuttle bus, and more. Le Tour de Terra Cotta is run solely by volunteers and 100 per cent of the proceeds are donated to the commu- nity and local charities. Envisioned by Senior Cycling Olym- pian Ted Webb in 2005, the Tour de Terra Cotta began as a collaborative effort between the community and the Brampton Cycling Club. In 2008, the race became a 100 per cent com- munity-driven event and has grown to include close to 700 racers, attracting participants from across Canada, the U.S. and internationally. Town enters railway hall of fame The Town of Halton Hills has been in- ducted into the North America Railway Hall of Fame. Intercontinental Railway, Town of Hal- ton Hills was inducted during a ceremony with other inductees in the Canada South- ern Railway Station in St. Thomas Friday, June 6. The town has a number of railway re- lated structures that date back to the mid 1850s and most of them are still in use to- day. The structures were built under the di- rection of Sir Casimir Gzowski, who served as the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
