Photo by Jon Borgstrom Georgetown native takes to the stage This coming Tuesday (Aug. 5), Georgetown's native virtuoso Thomas Dobrovich will be featured in a won- derful musical soiree at 157 Main St. Recently, Maestro Dobrovich placed first at the "Symphony on The Bay" Concerto Competition. The 19-year- old will be the guest soloist in Rach- maninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto next March with the Symphony on The Bay at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre. This coming August he will represent Ontario at The National Mu- sic Competition in Vancouver, B.C. On the program next Tuesday, mu- sic of Beethoven and Chopin will also be performed, closing with Doborvich and the Greidonian Philharmonic in a deliciously delectably dark rendition of Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Concerto. Having delighted and moved Georgetown audiences for the past 10 years, beautiful soprano Jane Po- tovzsky will top off the evening in two works titled Dreams by Rachmaninoff and Grieg accompanied by Ron Gre- idanus at the piano.
