Go take a hike in support of Bruce Trail The Toronto Bruce Trail Club is in- viting you to participate in the first-ev- er Bruce Trail Hike-a-thon during the month of August. Funds raised will be directed to the Bruce Trail Conservancy's (BTC) 50th Anniversary Milestones Project. The 50th Anniversary Milestones Project is a celebration of all the elements that make the Bruce Trail so exceptional, from the trail itself to the BTC's land acquisition work to the many, many volunteers who make everything hap- pen. 50TH ANNIVERSARY MILE- STONE PROJECT GOAL About 5,000 acres of Niagara Es- carpment landscape containing the Bruce Trail secured, stewarded and made available to the public over the next five years is the goal. The Bruce Trail Hike-a-thon gives you the opportunity to help preserve and protect the Bruce Trail and provide an opportunity to make your kilome- tres count. You can hike as little or as much as you want. You can hike by yourself, with a bud- dy, friends and/or family. You can also join the public hikes offered by any of the Bruce Trail Clubs along the trail. Participants are required to raise a minimum donation of $100 per indi- vidual or $300 for a team (six max) to register. Everyone is welcome. The Bruce Trail Hike-a-thon will take place throughout the month of August. A kick-off event will be held at Me- morial Hall, Limehouse Conservation Area on Saturday, Aug. 2, 9:45 a.m. with featured hikes, music and giveaways.
